Background & History
Maria Soti Education Centre traces its genesis to the visionary aspiration of Mzee Cheserem, a dream that was subsequently brought to full fruition through the steadfast commitment and philanthropy of the late Hon. Nicholas Biwott. The name Maria Soti was deliberately and thoughtfully chosen to embody local cultural identity while symbolizing the distinctive mission of extending high-quality Christian education to the rural girl-child, as originally envisioned by “Gogo” Maria Soti herself.
Since its establishment in 2007, the institution has tenaciously safeguarded its Christian foundations, upheld under the spiritual guidance of the A.I.C. Church Chaplaincy. This enduring heritage continues to inform the school’s character, ethos, and pedagogical philosophy.

The Centre is situated approximately 42 kilometres from Eldoret Town, along the Eldoret–KCC Illula–Kapkoi corridor. Nestled in a tranquil suburban setting and accessible via an all-weather road, the school enjoys serene surroundings that foster a calm, contemplative, and intellectually conducive learning environment.
Curriculum
Maria Soti Education Centre offers both the 8–4–4 curriculum and the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), catering to learners from Form One to Form Four as well as Grades 7–9. Our instructional model integrates academic rigour with moral and spiritual grounding, cultivating disciplined, principled, and intellectually inquisitive learners who are well-prepared to navigate contemporary challenges.
